The Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, Nasiha Pozder, met in Mostar with representatives of the “Healthy Life – Kinezis” association, organizers of this year’s юбilee 10th Mostar Half Marathon—an event that promotes tourism, culture, and healthy lifestyles through sport, and holds significance for the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Due to its location, history, culture, and tradition, Mostar has been chosen to be presented during the half marathon as a unique “running postcard.” During the race, participants cross six city bridges and pass through some of the most beautiful parts of the city, including natural, cultural, and historical landmarks, as well as UNESCO heritage sites.
“It is wonderful that international participants, coming from more than 50 countries, fly into Sarajevo, travel by train to Mostar, run across the city’s bridges while enjoying UNESCO cultural heritage sites, and then stay in the Herzegovina-Neretva and West Herzegovina cantons. This is an excellent example of how events directly impact tourism development,” said Minister Pozder.

Last year, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism co-financed this event through a public call in the amount of 26,231.00 KM. A special feature of the half marathon is also the 4-kilometer charity race, organized annually to support various target groups.
Franjo Lovrić, President of the “Healthy Life – Kinezis” association, presented plans for this year’s event and informed the Minister that registrations were closed more than a month in advance.
“The support of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism has been very important to us, as it enabled a strong media campaign. Closed registrations for the Rolla Mostar Half Marathon and a record number of participants confirm that we can expect another top-level event of importance for Mostar, Herzegovina, and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Lovrić emphasized.
Minister Pozder also announced that the Ministry will initiate activities to measure the impact of such events on tourism development in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming to obtain concrete data on their economic and social significance.
